മറ്റം തീർത്ഥകേന്ദ്ര സ്മരണകൾ - (1938 - 2023)



ഭൂപ്രകൃതിയാൽ മനോഹരമായ ഈ പ്രദേശത്തു അതിപുരാതനമായ ഒരു ചരിത്രം ഉറങ്ങിക്കിടക്കുന്നു. ഗുഹാസംസ്ക്കാരത്തിൽ തുടങ്ങി ശിലാസ്മാരകങ്ങളിൽ കൂടി കടന്നു പുരാതന ദേവാലയങ്ങളുടെ ശിക്ഷണങ്ങളിൽ ശാന്തിയുടേയും മത സൗഹാർദതയുടേയും വിളനിലമായി വളർന്ന ഒരു പഴയ ചരിത്രമാണത്. ആ പഴയ ചരിത്ര പശ്ചാത്തലത്തിൽ സർവ്വജാതി മതസ്ഥർക്കും അനുഗ്രഹങ്ങൾ വർഷിച്ചുകൊണ്ടും, നിരവധിഅത്ഭുതങ്ങൾ പ്രവർത്തിച്ചുകൊണ്ടും മറ്റത്തിൽ നിത്യസഹായ മാതാവ് ആധുനിക ചരിത്രത്തിലെ ഒരു മഹാതേജസ്സായി ശോഭിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു

    The copy of the blessed picture of Our Lady of Perpetual Help was brought to Mattom by Fr Sebastian Vellanikkaran from Rome and it was placed in a carved rock on the hillock where the shrine is located and was blessed on 24th May

  2. 1939 :

    Nithya sahya matha sakyam Started on 13th May (First in India)

  3. 1957 :

    101 Steps to shrine grotto was constructed by V.Rev.Fr.George Vazhappilly

  4. 1966 :

    Foundation stone Laid by H.E.Rt.Rev.Dr.George Alappat on April 23

  5. 1968 :

    Road Construction & The new shrine constructed by vicar V.Rev.Fr.John Maliyekkal , Blessed by H.E.Rt.Rev.Dr.George Alappat on 28th April

  6. 1969 :

    Neeruva seen

  7. 1978 :

    Church bell tower constructed

  8. 1987 :

    Drinnking water facility Inagurated by Mar Joseph Kundukulam (Bishop of Trichur) on Dec-20

  9. 1988 :

    Road concreted by V.Rev.Fr.Jacob Chirayath with the help of V.Rev.Fr.John Maliyekkal & Inagurated by V.Rev.Fr.Antony Pellisseri on April 10.
    Declared as pilgrim centre by Mar Joseph Kundukulam (Bishop of Trichur)

    Flag pole Installed by V.Rev.Fr. Shaju Ukken on Oct 31 . New LED Cross installed at the top of the shrine by V.Rev.Fr. Shaju Ukken on June 27.

  15. 2023 :

    Shrine Renovated By V.Rev.Fr.Shaju Ukken. Blessed by Mar Tony Neelankavil (Auxiliary Bishop of Trichur) on April 13.
